The goal is to beat the house

The goal is to beat the house, the dealer. That doesn't mean the goal is to get to 21. If everyone played by the rules, we could all play face up. No need to keep a card in the hole, hidden. No awkward scratching on the table wondering if your table partner is going to hold on 12 when the dealer has a five showing.

When you play to add your own cards to 21 you screw yourself and the table. It's not how you win. Leave the bust card alone- this deck is stacked with too much of this and too much of that.
